Tutor Qualifications:
Over 18 years of age
Currently enrolled and in good standing at a college, university, or approved post-secondary program
Possession of a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card with IVP number
Submit a job application with a cover letter, 2 letters of recommendation from an education professional, a copy of transcripts through last semester completed
Complete a hiring interview with the Tutorium HR Director
Each tutor must provide at least 6 hours of availability each week
Each tutor must be responsible and a reliable adult with a desire to help others
Each tutor must maintain professional and appropriate behavior at all times
Have high standards of ethics and integrity
Demonstrate enthusiasm for helping students
Have good communication and interpersonal skills
Attend and participate in all mandatory tutor training’s
Tutors must have access to reliable, consistent transportation
Tutors must have reliable, consistent mobile internet access
Be available to work weekday afternoons and evenings, and Saturdays.
Preferred Qualifications:
Honor Roll/Dean's List; GPA Over 3.25
Be an education major/minor, or specific plans to enter education
Previous tutoring and education setting experience
Previous experience with school aged children
Bilingual (Spanish)
Key Job Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with students to encourage independent learning
Assist students with the acquisition of student success skills (study skills, learning strategies, etc.)
Help individual students or small groups of students with homework, reading and skill building in language arts and math
Create and manage a positive learning environment for students
Adhere to all Tutorium Education Services, LLC policies & procedures
Act in a professional manner at all times
Manage and maintain your tutoring schedule responsibly
Be able to effectively function in the digital cloud. E-mail, tutor tracking system, session attend, and resource database
Communicate with parents, students and staff regarding schedule changes, cancellations, and student progress
Complete paperwork (time-sheets, session follow up communication, self-evaluations, etc.) in a timely manner
Maintain academic integrity
Keep current on your subject/content area(s)
Be available for Tutorium initiatives (ex. Promotion/canvassing), as needed
Compensation:
Undergraduate students start at $18/per tutor & planning session
Graduate students start at $20/per tutor & planning session
Honor Roll/Dean's List/GPA Bonus: Tutors who make the Dean's list, Honor Roll four semester’s in a row or have a cumulative GPA of over 3.7 GPA (minimum 2 semesters) may qualify for pay bonuses, if available.
Tutorium Tutors and educators are 1099 and W2 employees
Tutor Hiring Process:
(1) be interviewed,
(2) complete job application with a cover letter, 2 letters of recommendation from an education professional, a copy of transcripts through last semester completed,
(4) be approved for employment by TES HR Director.
(5) complete HR/payroll forms and get payroll clearance,
(6) attend an orientation training, and
(7) receive approved schedule
